MUSCLE MAC MACARONI & CHEESE!!

A huge thank you to the fine people over at Quality Pasta Company, the makers of  MUSCLE MAC for sending several samples of their amazing products! When I first saw their Protein Mac'n'Cheese I knew instantly that I was going to love this product.

They sent me a few of each product. The microwaveable cup, Shells and Cheese and the regular Mac'n'Cheese. The first one I tried was the Microwaveable cup. I work from home with my lovely wife ( we own 3 small business') and I am a Professional Bodybuilder and I eat every 2 hours and the Microwaveable cup was so fast and so easy to make. It was so easy to cook and prepare. It is my first choice as a "go to" product.

Next up was the regular protein Mac'n'Cheese. These had to be cooked just like any other box of mac'n'cheese. The overall flavor was amazing and I enjoyed every single bite! The flavor is no different than KRAFT! And that says a lot in my opinion. KRAFT has been #1 for a very long time, but looks like MUSCLE MAC may give them a huge run for their money.

Then finally I tried the shells and cheese. I haven't had the shell version from any brand in many years. I have always been a fan of the regular noodles. But this box was full of tasty goodness! Over the years I have used MANY pre workout drinks. Some terrible, some really good but very few were PHENOMENAL. I was at the gym and the manager asked me if I wanted some samples of some pre workout mixes he had gotten in the mail. So I dug through them and one really caught my eye. My personal opinion on this product is that it's pretty darn amazing. I love it and use it daily. Daily? Yes, daily. I compete in bodybuilding and my diet coach needs to know my weight on a daily basis. Other than that I would use this scale one to times a week just to keep myself in check.

The only part I wasn't really satisfied with was the body fat estimate. Right now I am 4 weeks out from my next competition in Oklahoma City and my body fat, according to 7 point caliper testing, is 4% The scale has me at 28%. So I'm not really using the body fat part of this scale. The rest is dead on as far as I can tell.

The great people over at Transparent Labs sent me a tub of their BULK Series Pre-Workout (Blue Raspberry) to try out and review here on my blog. First off I want to say THANK YOU to Transparent Labs for being so awesome and for trusting me to give an honest review of their product.

I started off with 1/2 scoop as the directions suggested. I was rather impressed that such a "low dose" (for a man my size and weight) could deliver such a steady flow of energy. I mixed 1/2 scoop in with 6-8oz water and drank it on my way to the gym.

The energy and pumps were fantastic. BULK lasted the entire workout and I still had gas left in the tank for more. I compete in Bodybuilding and feel my training is a bit harder than the average gym goer and BULK really helped me to grind through a tough workout.

Flavoring we really good. There are no artificial sweeteners or flavoring. They use low amounts of natural sweeteners which I really like!

Mix ability was excellent, very easy to mix. You can use a spoon to mix it. No clumps are settlement.

AI Sports Nutrition FURIOUS!

First off I want to thank AI Sports Nutrition for allowing me to try this product and review it. Their products are top notch and the quality is second to none.

I got a tub of FURIOUS which is their bad ass pre workout drink. I got the Booming Blue Raz flavor. I ran this product for a few weeks and the consistency in energy was always there. No crash either. I train 6 days a week and my training is often VERY intense so I needed a product that would do what it claims. FURIOUS did just that!

I mixed 1 scoop in 4oz of water. I like my flavor to be a tad strong, especially Blue Raz. It mixes so easily and there is no settlement at the bottom of my shaker cup. The flavor was REALLY good but I have to be honest and say it isn't the best Blue Raz i've ever had. I added a little Blue Raz flavoring from Kool Aid. Not much, just a half tablespoonful. Energy and drive were top notch. The energy flowed steadily and lasted the entire workout with no crash,

IGF-1 (1-3)

I am writing about another one of my favorite peptides. IGF-1. I'll drive right in and tell you what it is, what it does and where to get it.

What is IGF-1?

IGF1 or insulin-like growth factor 1 is a growth factor which is very closely related to insulin.  It carries the same amount of amino acids as insulin and responsible for the anabolic reactions to GH.  IGF-1 is an important factor in childhood growth and is highly anabolic in adults. It is also known by the brand name Increlex and the generic name mecasermin.

Action

IGF-1 is released in the liver and binds to the IGF receptors within the cells, which ultimately causes a stimulation of cell growth (both causing new tissue formation and existing tissue growth) and an inhibition of cell death.  It is a highly anabolic and anti-catabolic compound. For the athlete or bodybuilder, this had many positive effects: increased nitrogen retention and protein synthesis because it is highly anabolic.  IGF-1 (in the presence of sufficient protein) actually promotes growth of new muscle cells, which increases the overall number of cells in the muscle.

IGF protects the neurons of the brain as well as promotes growth of new motor neurons, making it more possible to rapidly learn new skills during its use.  IGF-1 is also responsible in connective tissue production, improves collagen formation and aids in cartilage repair.  Similarly, it affects the bones by aiding in bone production and repair.

My personal experience with this peptide has been nothing short of phenomenal. The way I take this peptide is by injecting it in each muscle i'm training that day approx 20-30min prior to training. For example, if i'm working chest and triceps I will inject it in each tricep then go train. The pump is amazing and I can actually "feel" my muscle working better. The same goes for other body parts, I will do the same exact thing with quads, biceps are whatever bodypart i want to really blast that day. I've had nothing but great results with it and my workouts are improving. I have to say that the pump can be, at times, VERY intense. Damn painful sometimes but that is GROWTH happening so embrace it!
